Cantieri di Puglia takes over from Ferretti at the Ex Belleli site: agreement signed
Once the capping works on the first 110,000 square meters of this area are completed, Cantieri di Puglia will immediately begin the necessary works to commence its operations within thirty months
The signing for Cantieri di Puglia to take over at the Ex Belleli site did not delay much, as anticipated two weeks ago by Pasquale Di Napoli to SUPER YACHT 24, and it has come to pass.
The news of the agreement’s officialization comes from the Corriere di Taranto, which specifies, “The Cantieri di Puglia company has officially confirmed at the table that it has signed a contractual and economic agreement with the Ferretti Group to take over its project for constructing a new production site at the former Yard Belleli in Taranto, having acquired Ferretti Tech’s shares, the company created at the time for the realization of the project in Taranto”.
The project of Cantieri di Puglia, we recall, concerns the construction of steel and aluminum hulls (as opposed to fiberglass, as in the case of Ferretti) for mega yachts starting from 50 meters and above. This requires a technical adjustment regarding the warehouses, which should not pose difficulties given the same Ateco code.
At this point, as reported by local media, we await communication from Sogesid (an in-house company of the Ministry of the Environment) regarding which company or group of companies has won the tender (published last February) for the works related to securing, remediating, and establishing primary infrastructure in the former Yard Belleli area, measuring approximately 230,000 square meters within the Taranto National Interest Site (SIN) area. The remediation project concerns the second phase (the first phase has already been completed).
The works will be divided into two phases. Once the capping works on the first 110,000 square meters of this area are completed, Cantieri di Puglia will immediately begin the necessary works to commence its operations within thirty months. In the second phase, once the remediation work is completed, they will expand into the rest of the area.
